Born in 1901 in Nizhny Novgorod. Scout of the Nizhny Novgorod squad "Argo". Member of the literary circle of scouts (1922–1924), wrote for scout handwritten magazines (pseud. - Harry, Gar). Secret employee of the NGO OGPU since 1927. Arrested on March 31, 1928 in Nizhny Novgorod, transferred to Moscow on April 1, 1928, under investigation in the Internal Prison. By resolution of the OGPU Collegium dated July 20, 1928, he was sentenced to 3 years in a concentration camp. After the end of his term of imprisonment, by resolution of the Special Meeting of the OGPU Collegium dated January 05, 1932, he was exiled to Arkhangelsk for 3 years. Arrested again on December 16, 1937, under investigation in the Gorky prison. Sentenced on December 30, 1937 by a special troika of the UNKVD in the Gorky region. according to Art. 58-8-10 to 10 years in prison. From 02/22/1938 - in Vyatlag. Released on October 8, 1943, by directive of the NKVD, People's Commissariat of Justice, and the USSR Prosecutor's Office dated October 23, 1942. According to other sources, he died in custody in 1938.

1. "Kirensk". Memoirs of Agafonova A.L. February 25, 1996, Nizhny Novgorod.
The author, Agafonova A.L., was born in 1907 in Nizhny Novgorod. Scout of the Nizhny Novgorod organization "Argo". At the beginning of the memories - a student of the agronomic faculty of the Nizhny Novgorod State University.
The memoirs begin with a description of the searches on 03/31/1927 in the apartment of G.N. Priklonsky, then - in the author's apartment. Confiscation of a board game as evidence.
Placement in the cell of the OGPU prison on Malaya Pokrovka. Two interrogations by the investigator. Release after 5 days.
Link scouts to Siberia. A poem by G.N. Priklonsky sent to the author from exile in Kirensk (Irkutsk region).
Graduation at the Nizhny Novgorod University (1929). A telegram to the Kirensky District Land Administration with a request to send an application to the university for the distribution of the author to work as an agronomist in the city of Kirensk.
