Genus. in 1883 in Novgorod; from the nobles. In 1892–1899 he studied and lived in the city of Sarapul, Vyatka province, and studied at a real school. From 1899 he studied at the Naval Engineering School, and from 1902 he became a senior non-commissioned officer. In 1903 he graduated from the mechanical department of the Marine Engineering School in Kronstadt and was promoted to junior mechanical engineer. in 1903–1906 - mechanical engineer on ships of the Black Sea and Baltic fleets. In 1908 he graduated from the mechanical department of the Nikolaev Maritime Academy. Since 1909 - teacher at the Marine Engineering School. After the October Revolution, he taught at the Navy Command School, at the Naval Academy (from 1921 - professor), and lectured at the Polytechnic Institute (in 1922 he graduated as an external student). In 1930 – organizer and head of the department “Ship and auxiliary mechanisms” at the LCI. Since 1931 - senior head of the department of hydraulic mechanisms of the Naval Academy, acting head of the mechanical engineering department of the faculty of military shipbuilding of the Naval Academy. In 1932 he was elected an honorary member of the Scientific and Technical Society. Academician A.N. Krylov. Since 1935 - senior head of the military shipbuilding department of the Naval Academy. Arrested on 01/06/1942, until 1946 he was under arrest and investigation. In 1946 he was appointed head of the department of ship auxiliary mechanisms, then professor of the same department of LCI. In 1950–1960 – professor and head of department at the Leningrad Institute of Water Transport Engineers. He died in 1962 in Leningrad.
