Leader of the Moscow nobility. Director of the Department of the Ministry of Agriculture; active figure in the Stolypin agrarian reform. In 1920 he emigrated to London. from 1920 he lived in Berlin and its suburbs. Mason. From 1929 he collaborated in Berlin with the Russian-German School Society, chairing its meetings in 1930. In 1932 - member of the Council of the Emigrant Committee in Berlin, deputy chairman of the advisory emigrant committee in Berlin. In his house in Dalewitz (near Dabendorf) meetings of General Vlasov with generals P.N. Krasnov, A.A. von Lampe and other prominent figures of the first wave of Russian emigration took place.
