In December 1930, he was called up for military service and began working at the Kronstadt Marine Plant. At the beginning of 1935, the parents were deported to Kazakhstan. Yu.Yu. Benois was fired, but not expelled - the director of the Marine Plant Vasiliev, who wrote a letter to Voroshilov, stood up for him.
