Born in 1852 in the family of Yuli Leontievich Benois (1820-1898), brother of the architect Nikolai Leontievich Benois.
In 1870-1874 he studied at the architectural department of the Imperial Academy of Arts under A. Rezanov and D. Grimm. Among the works in St. Petersburg: the mansion of N.I. Obukhova (1893), Holy Cross community of sisters of mercy with elements of modernism (1892-1904), Ligovsky People's House S.V. Panina (1901-1904), villa N.V. Bezobrazova on Mokhovaya Street (1903-1905, together with A.I. Vladovsky), apartment buildings of the First Russian Insurance Company (1911-1914, together with L.N. Benois, Albert Benois and A.I. Gunst). Author of industrial buildings (Gutuevskaya cloth manufactory, 1884). After the revolution he was engaged in agriculture.
