Academy (02/12/1901-07/02/1912), extraordinary professor of the Mikhailovsky art. Academy (from 07/02/1912), ordinary professor of the Mikhailovsky art. Academy (since 03/01/1915). Major General (Art. 06.12.1915). In 1918, he joined the teaching staff of the academy to serve in the Red Army (full-time professor at the academy). He was arrested by the Cheka, but was released.
