Distel Herat Filippovich
Member of a family of Germans expelled from the Saratov region
The family was exiled in 1941 from the village of Mainberg, Zelmansky District, Saratov Region, to the village of Novo-Kropotkino, Tomsk Region. The final destination of their journey was the village of Krugloe and the Put Ilyicha collective farm. The children begged for alms. They worked on the collective farm. Local residents helped as much as they could. The exiles died of cold and hunger. Herat learned and became a tractor driver. He married a local girl, Galya Mikhailova. They moved to the village of Klyukvinka, then to Mogilny Mys.
