Gants (Gents) Lev Osipovich (Iosifovich)

Genus. in 1882 in Berdichev; Jew; higher education, member of the RSDLP since 1903. Arrested on 12/18/1920 in Odessa. In February 1921 he was imprisoned in the Butyrka prison in Moscow; released by the decree of the Cheka of 12/11/1921. In 1931 he lived in Leningrad, worked as a lawyer in the Leningrad Regional Glass Trust. Arrested again on 01/05/1931; sentenced by the Collegium of the Court of the East Siberian Territory (according to other sources - KOGPU) on July 23, 1931 under Art. 58-4 of the Criminal Code of the RSFSR to exile in Eastern Siberia for 3 years; released ahead of schedule 10/21/1932 with permission to live freely on the territory of the USSR. In 1937 he lived in Leningrad, worked as a senior legal adviser in the Leningrad branch of Elektroprom. Arrested on August 17, 1937 (according to other sources, on August 16, 1937), he was accused of "conducting active k/r agitation"; sentenced by OSO under UNKVD LO on 11/05/1937 to 10 years in labor camp. He died on 05/10/1941 in the hospital of the l / n of the 3rd department. He was buried on May 12, 1941 at the Taishetlag cemetery (Irkutsk region). Rehabilitated by the prosecutor's office of Leningrad 06/28/1989.
