Born in 1877 in Przemysl, Galicia; Ukrainian. Geographer, lecturer at the Lviv, Vienna, and Prague Free Ukrainian Universities. In the USSR since 1926. Founder and director of the Institute of Geography and Cartography, academician of the All-Ukrainian Academy of Sciences. Lived in Kharkov, Liebknecht Street, Building 33, Apt. 11. Arrested on March 21, 1933 in the case of the "Ukrainian Military Organization". Sentenced by the Tribunal of the Collegium of the GPU of the Ukrainian SSR on September 23, 1933 under Article 54-4-6 of the Criminal Code of the Ukrainian SSR to 5 years of imprisonment. In custody in Svirlag and Solovki. Sentenced to capital punishment by a special troika of the NKVD of the Leningrad Region on October 9, 1937. Shot in the Karelian ASSR (Sandormokh) on 03.11.1937.
