001: Alexayte Ada daughter of Jonas. Personal file of special settler ALEKSAITE ADA D. IONAS

1941 - 1994
Annotation:

Aleksaite Ada daughter of Jonas was born in 1930 in the Lithuanian city of Palanga, on the Baltic Sea coast. Nationality - Lithuanian, no first name, literate.

The family lived on the Lakinskai farm in the Marijampole district of the Kalvarija volost.

Mother Aleksene Solomija daughter of Jonas until 1940 "owned an estate of 33.29 hectares of land, 23 horses, 42 cattle." Father Alekse Jonas son of Jonas (1878-1955) was the Minister of Agriculture in Lithuania before its annexation.

Alex's family had children:

  • Aleksayte Daina (Danuta), daughter of Jonas, born in 1928,
  • Alexayte Ada daughter of Jonas, born in 1930,
  • Alexayte Yanina (Ione), daughter of Ionas, born in 1931,
  • Alexa Ionas son of Ionas, born in 1932

In 1940, the father was arrested for counter-revolutionary activities by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Lithuanian SSR. On June 15, 1941, the Marijampolė County Department of the NKGB of the Lithuanian SSR made a decision to expel the family of Aleksienė Solomija daughter of Jonas outside the Lithuanian SSR as a socially dangerous element. The decision was made on the basis of the Resolution of the NKGB of the Lithuanian SSR dated June 15, 1941.

The family was sent to the special settlement of Svetlo-Zelenoye, Verkh-Bolotovsky village council, Parbigsky district, Tomsk region. The family arrived at the settlement in July 1941.

In June 1947, all three Aleksaite sisters: Daina, Ada and Janina escaped from the settlement and reached the city of Vilnius in the Lithuanian SSR. Ada entered the agricultural technical school in Vilnius. In April 1949, they were detained by the police as having escaped from the mandatory place of settlement. They were escorted from the city of Vilnius to the place of settlement to their mother - in the Parbigsky district of the Tomsk region.

According to the documents, from 1951 to 1955, Aleksayte Ada worked "as an ordinary collective farmer on the Kaganovich collective farm" and was periodically sent to harvest timber. She reported to the special commandant's office every month. In response to her application, written in 1953, for permission to complete her studies at the evening secondary school in the village of Parbig, she received a refusal: "We cannot do this!"

In 1955, Ada managed to enroll in a 2-year evening nursing course at the Tomsk Regional Committee of the Red Cross. She moved to Tomsk and from October 13, 1955, was attached to the Tomsk special commandant's office "as deported from the Baltics (Lithuanian SSR) in 1941." She worked in a clinic at the medical institute, first as a nanny, and after completing her studies, as a nurse in the 3rd therapy.

On April 19, 1958, a decision was made to remove Aleksaite Ada, Ionas's daughter, from the special settlement register based on the Ministry of Internal Affairs order No. 0126 of April 1, 1956, taking into account "that she was under 16 years old at the time of her eviction." At the same time, she was informed, under a receipt, "that the lifting of her restrictions on the special settlement does not entail the return of property confiscated during the eviction, and that she does not have the right to return to the places from which she was evicted."

In December 1994, the Tomsk Region Department of Internal Affairs made a decision to rehabilitate Alekseita Ada d. Ionas and Aleksene’s mother Solomiya d. Ionas, based on the Law of the RSFSR of October 18, 1991 “On the Rehabilitation of Victims of Political Repression.”

By the same document, her sister Aleksaite Daina d. Ionasa and brother Aleksa Ionas s. Ionasa were recognized as victims of political repression.

The biography was compiled based on the materials of archival file No. 49739 for the Lithuanian special settler Aleksaite Ada d. Jonas, born in 1930, a native of Palanga, Lithuanian SSR.

I approve: Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of the Lithuanian SSR Colonel Efremov

CONCLUSION

On the escort of the fugitives Aleksaite Ada Ionas and Aleksaite Yanina Ionas to the settlement site

1949, July 9, Vilnius.

I, Senior Operative of the Department of the RP of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Lithuanian SSR - Captain Evstigneev Having reviewed the case materials on:

Alexayte Ada d. Ionas born in 1930,

native of Palanga, Lithuanian SSR, Lithuanian by nationality, citizen of the SSR, literate.

Aleksayte Yanina d. Ionas born in 1931, native of the city of Palanga, Lithuanian SSR, Lithuanian by nationality, citizen of the USSR, literate.

Currently reside in Vilnius, Yasinsky Street, house No. 20/22.

FOUND:

That Aleksaite Ada d. Ionasa and Aleksaite Yanina d. Ionasa together with Aleksaite's mother Solameya Ionasa and Aleksaite's sister Donuteya in June 1941, as the family of the former Minister of Agriculture under Smetona from the Mariapol district were deported to a special settlement in the Tomsk region Parbigsky district, where they remained in a special settlement until 1947.

In August 1947, Aleksaite Ada d. Jonasa and Aleksaite Janina d. Jonasa, and Aleksaite Donute d. Jonasa fled from the settlement to the Lithuanian SSR and began to live in Vilnius at 20/22 Jasinski Street.

In April 1949, Aleksaite Donute d. Ionasa and Aleksaite Janina d. Ionasa were detained by the police as having fled from their mandatory place of settlement.

Aleksaite Donute was arrested and then sent together with the investigation file to the settlement site in Tomsk Oblast, Aleksaite Yanina v. Ionas, as not registered with the Tomsk Oblast UMVD, according to the order of the USSR Ministry of Internal Affairs No. 00159, was released on recognizance not to leave the city of Vilnius.

An industrial inspection through the Tomsk Region Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and interrogation of the fugitives Aleksayte Ada d. Ionas and Aleksayte Yanina Ionas themselves established that in 1941 they were deported to a mandatory settlement site in Tomsk Region, from where they fled in August 1947 and thereby committed a crime under Article 82-16 Part 2 of the Criminal Code of the RSFSR.

Guided by the directive of the USSR Ministry of Internal Affairs No. 1/8599 of June 14, 1949.

I WOULD BELIEVE:

Considering that Aleksayte Ada Ionasa, Aleksayte Yanina Ionasa are not on the wanted list because they were not included in the eviction order due to their minor age, but the fact of their eviction and escape is confirmed by documents and their own testimony, Aleksayte Ada d. Ionasa and Aleksayte Yanina d. Ionasa - to escort to the place of settlement of their mother Aleksene Solomei d. Ionasa, i.e. to the Tomsk region Parbigsky district

Senior Operative Commissioner of the ORP MVD of the Lithuanian SSR - Captain Evstigneev

"Agree"

Question: Alexey, please explain in what language can you give your testimony to the investigation?
Answer : I wish to give my testimony to the investigation in Russian, since I have sufficient command of the language.

Question: Alexei, explain to the investigation with whom, when and for what reason you were deported from the Lithuanian SSR and where?

Answer : In 1941, my mother, Aleksene Solomeya , sister, Aleksaite Yana, daughter of Ionas , sister, Aleksaite Daina, daughter of Ionas , and I lived in the village of Lakinskay in the Mariampolsky district. Soon after that, we were all subject to expulsion from the Lithuanian SSR and assigned to a special settlement in the Parbigsky district of the Tomsk region.

Our family was subjected to eviction, in my opinion, because our father Aleksa Ionas son of Ionas was the Minister of Agriculture during the bourgeois system in Lithuania, who was arrested in 1940 by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Lithuanian SSR. At the moment, my father is in the Krasnoyarsk Territory, Mansky District. On June 30, 1947, my sister Aleksaite Daina daughter of Ionas and Aleksaite Yanina daughter of Ionas arrived in the Lithuanian SSR from the Tomsk Region, where we have lived to this day.

The protocol records everything correctly from my words and reads it out loud. [signature]
