Chupin Nikolay Korneevich was born in 1917. A native of the village of Snegirevka, Shumyachsky district, Smolensk region, Russian, citizen of the USSR, from poor peasants, collective farmer, 3rd grade education, no pension, married.
In the Red Army from July 1941 by conscription. Served as a Red Army soldier in the communications platoon of the 1st battalion of the 245th rifle regiment of the 123rd rifle division. Arrested on August 26, 1941 by an employee of the NKVD OO of the 123rd rifle division on charges of a crime under Art. 58-10, Part 2 of the Criminal Code of the RSFSR - that "being anti-Soviet in July-August 1941, he conducted counterrevolutionary agitation, slandered the lives of workers in the Soviet Union, slandered the Soviet press, and also engaged in defeatist talk."
By decision of the VT 123rd Rifle Division of August 29, 1941, he was sentenced to 10 years of imprisonment in a labor camp and 5 years of disenfranchisement. From September 5, 1941, N.K. Chupin was in Leningrad Prison No. 11, then transferred to the NSO, and from November 15, 1941, already in Prison No. 3 of the NSO NKVD in Tomsk. From February 17, 1942, he was in the prison hospital. He died in the prison hospital on April 10, 1942. The Medical Examination Certificate of the corpse states that "death was natural and occurred from renal amyloid and pneumonia with signs of decline in cardiac activity."
The file was discovered by chance, in the damp basement of SIZO-1, about 80 years after it was established. The file is in a deplorable state, the pages are eaten away by fungus and falling apart. The museum staff attempted to dry the documents and make copies.

RESOLVED:
The measure of suppression of Nikolai Korneevich CHUPIN's methods of evading investigation and trial shall be detention, about which, in accordance with Article 146 of the Criminal Procedure Code of the RSFSR, the arrested person shall be notified against signature in this resolution.
In accordance with Article 150 of the Criminal Procedure Code of the RSFSR, a copy of the resolution shall be sent to the military prosecutor of the 123rd SD and the head of the prison for inclusion in the personal prison file.

under secretary MELNIKOV(?) without the participation of the prosecution and defense, considered case No. 020 on charges against a Red Army soldier of the 245th Order of the Red Banner rifle regiment, Nikolai Korneevich CHUPIN, born in 1917, native of the Smolensk region, Shumyachsky district, Kalakhansky (?) village council, Snegirevka village, Russian, collective farmer, by social origin from poor peasants, married, with a lower education, non-party member, no criminal record, in the Red Army since 1940 upon conscription by the Shumyachsky RVC, -- in a crime provided for in Art. 58-10 part 2 of the Criminal Code of the RSFSR. The materials of the case and the judicial investigation established that CHUPIN, being anti-Soviet, in July-August 1941 carried out counter-revolutionary agitation, expressed in praising the life of workers in capitalist countries, in slandering the life of workers in the Soviet Union, in slandering the Soviet press; in addition, CHUPIN conducted defeatist conversations.
Thus, the charge brought against CHUPIN for committing a crime under Article 58-10, Part 2 of the Criminal Code of the RSFSR has been established by the judicial investigation, and therefore, guided by Articles 19 and ??? of the Criminal Procedure Code of the RSFSR, the MILITARY TRIBUNAL
SENTENCED:
CHUPIN Nikolai Korneevich, on the basis of Art. 58-10, Part 2 of the Criminal Code of the RSFSR, with the sanction(?) of Art. 58-2 of the Criminal Code of the RSFSR, shall be subject to imprisonment for a term of ten years with detention in a correctional labor camp, with deprivation of political rights provided for in paragraphs "a", "b", "c", "d" and "e" of Art. 31 of the Criminal Code of the RSFSR for a term of five years , without confiscation of property, due to the convict's lack thereof.
The beginning of CHUPIN's sentence is calculated from August 27, 1941.

Based on order number ??? and the order of the Chief of Prison 3 of the NKVD NSO, State Security Lieutenant BOZHOK, I, military doctor of the 2nd rank SOBKIN, in the presence of DPNT ... GREBNEVA (?), carried out an external examination of the body [of prisoner [Nikolai Korneevich Chupin], born in 1917, who died in the hospital] of the prison on April 10, 1942 at 4:20 a.m.
The corpse of a male is correctly posed. [Corpse] rigor mortis has set in. The skin is deathly pale, the eyes are closed. Behind the ears on both sides there are gaping crustaceans 3 x 5 cm, with a slight secret discharge. The face is puffy. On the anterior surface of the chest there is a wound with a secret discharge. The chest is edematous. The bones of the skeleton are intact. The upper and lower extremities are edematous. The openings of the nose, ears, mouth and anus are free of foreign objects. On the back and chest there are traces of cups /blood../
3/K CHUPIN N.K. was in the prison hospital from 17/II-42 due to bilateral purulent paratitis /incisions were made/ of the chest /incision was made/ amyloid of the kidneys and lobar pneumonia. His death was natural and occurred from amyloid of the kidneys and pneumonia with signs of decline in cardiac activity.
