Reproduction methods:
Born in 1928 in Leningrad. After his father’s arrest in 1938, he was deported with his mother R.I. Muravskaya and sister D.T. Muravskaya (b. 1926) to Uzbekistan (Ursatievskaya village, Syrdarya region). In 1940 the deportation was canceled; at the beginning of 1941 he returned to Leningrad with his mother and sister. In April 1942 he was evacuated from Leningrad with his mother and sister to Cherkessk. During the occupation of Cherkessk in 1943, the family was divided and sent to forced labor: mother and sister to Germany, M. to Austria. Until 1945 in Austria: he worked at a factory, clearing away rubble after bombings. In 1945 he was liberated by Soviet troops and returned to Leningrad. In 1946-1947 he was a member of the mine clearance group in the Leningrad region. In 1947 he was arrested and accused of corresponding with his sister, who emigrated to the USA. Sentenced to 3 years in labor camp for illegal possession of explosives, imprisoned in camps in the Krasnoyarsk Territory. Released in 1950, he lived with his aunt E.R. Povalyaeva in Anapa, worked as a welder at a cement plant. Called up for military service in the navy, he served in Sevastopol. Demobilized in 1954, married. He moved with his family to Karaganda to support his mother, who was imprisoned in Karlag (Dolinka village). He graduated from a mining technical school, a coal combine operator, and worked in mines. After his mother was released in 1956, he moved with her to Donbass and worked in a mine. Since 1957 in Leningrad, he worked at the Leningrad Metrostroy; from 1959 - driver, then manager. garage of the Agrophysical Institute. Retired since 1986. Since 1988, he took an active part in the creation of the Leningrad Memorial Society, worked in the Memorial initiative group to search for burial places of those executed, including the Levashovskaya Heath; subsequently participated in the improvement of the Levashovsky memorial cemetery.Died on April 13, 2014 in St. Petersburg. He was buried at the Serafimovskoye cemetery.
