Alloy Vladimir Efimovich
Genus. in 1945 in Leningrad. Studied at the Faculty of Physics and Philology of the Leningrad State University. Emigrated in 1975. Lived in Rome, then in Paris. He joined the Russian Student Christian Movement, since 1977 - a member of the Council of the RSHD, deputy. ch. editor of the Bulletin of the RCD. He worked in the YMCA-Press publishing house, in 1978-1981 its director, in 1982-1984 - director of the La presse libre publishing house. He taught at the Institute of Political Sciences (1977-1990), worked as a Paris correspondent for the BBC (1983-1989) and the New Russian Word (until 1986). In 1977-1978 he prepared and released a magnetic album "Songs of Russian Bards" (more than 1000 songs). In 1977-1981 he published the samizdat historical collection "Memory" (vols. 2-5), the issues of which were prepared in Leningrad and Moscow. In 1984 he organized the Atheneum publishing house and began publishing the historical almanac The Past (12 volumes were published in Paris). In 1989 he organized a joint Russian-French publishing house "Phoenix". Initially in Moscow, since 1992 in St. Petersburg, he continued to publish The Past, as well as other historical and archival collections: Links (vols. 1-2), Faces (vols. 1-7), Nevsky Archive "(vols. 1-3)," Yaroslavl archive ". Co-editor and publisher lit. magazine "Postkriptum" (St. Petersburg, No. 1 - 12), the poetic series "Workshop". In 1999 he returned to Paris, prepared and published the first volume of the almanac "Diaspora", dedicated to the history of Russian emigration. In general, A. published approx. 200 books and magazines. Among them, the main place is occupied by the almanac "Past" (vols. 1-25). Author of the memoirs Notes of an Outsider. He died on 01/07/2001 in St. Petersburg.
