Genus. in 1935 in Baku; Jew, higher education - Moscow Pedagogical Institute. Lenin (1957–1962). He worked as a literature teacher in schools in the provinces, then in Moscow, and wrote poetry. In 1965–1967 participated in public protests: in the “glasnost rally” on December 5, 1965. and in the demonstration on January 21, 1967. Arrested on January 26, 1967. , was held in Lefortovo prison. Charges were brought under Art. 190-3 of the Criminal Code of the RSFSR. In June 1967 released, case dismissed. In 1968 drafted an appeal “To workers of science, culture, art”, signed a number of human rights documents. He wrote the essay “At the Closed Doors of an Open Court,” dedicated to the “demonstration of the seven” on Red Square. Participated in work on issues of the Chronicle of Current Events. He became close to activists of the Crimean Tatar movement, edited documents on the affairs of the Crimean Tatars. Arrested on May 19, 1969. on charges of “slander of the Soviet system.” Sent for investigation to Tashkent. Sentenced by the Tashkent City Court on January 19, 1970. according to Art. 191-4 of the Criminal Code of the Uzbek SSR for 3 years of the ITC. In August 1970 sent under escort to the Kemerovo region, to a general regime camp. In March 1973 transferred to Moscow to testify in a new case. In May 1973 released. Tried unsuccessfully to get a job. In October there was a threat of a new arrest. 10/20/1973 commits suicide.
