Reproduction methods:

Born 17.05.1941 in the Latvian SSR, Bauska district, Barbele village; Latvian; secondary education. On 25.03.1949 he was deported to Siberia with his family, the family returned to their homeland in the mid-1950s. Arrested in 1957 for possession of firearms. On 23.01.1959 he was convicted under Art. 58-10, Part 1 of the Criminal Code of the RSFSR, and released on parole on 07.09.1959. He was arrested again on 28.09.1960 "for preparing for terrorism". Sentenced by the Supreme Court of the Latvian SSR on 17.02.1961 under Art. 3 part 1, 7 part 2, 9, 15 of the Law of 25.12.1958, 74 part 2 of the Criminal Code of the RSFSR, Art. 1 part 2 of the Decree of 4.06.1947 to 14 years in a penal colony, with the addition of the unserved term under the sentence of 23.01.1959, for a total of 15 years. Imprisoned in Dubravlag, Perm camps and Vladimir prison. After his release, he worked on the Gaisma collective farm in his native village. In 1987 he joined the Helsinki 86 group. Moved to Riga. Died on 28.12.1988.
