Genus. in 1941 in the Latvian SSR, Bauska district, village of Barbel; Latvian; secondary education. In March, his family was deported to Siberia, returned to their homeland in the mid-1950s. Arrested in 1957 for possession of firearms. 01/23/1959 convicted under Art. 58-10 part 1 of the Criminal Code of the RSFSR, released on 09/07/1959. parole.Arrested on September 28, 1960 "for preparing for terror." Sentenced by the Supreme Court of the Latvian SSR on February 17, 1961 under Art. 3 parts 1, 7 parts 2, 9, 15 of the Law of 12/25/1958, 74 part 2 of the Criminal Code of the RSFSR, art. 1 part 2 of the Decree of 06/04/1947 to 14 years of penal colony, with the addition of an unserved term by the verdict of 01/23/1959, a total of 15 years. He served his term in Dubravlag, Perm camps and Vladimir prison. After his release, he worked on the Gaisma collective farm in his native village. In 1987 joined the group "Helsinki 86". Moved to Riga. Died 12/28/1988
