Lavut Alexander Pavlovich
Born in 1929 in Moscow; Jewish; higher education; mathematician, programmer, member of the Initiative Group for the Protection of Human Rights in the USSR. Lived in Moscow. Worked as a senior geophysicist in the Central Geophysical Expedition of the Ministry of Oil Industry. Arrested on 29.04.1980 for producing and distributing human rights documents. Sentenced by the Moscow City Court on 26.12.1980 under Art. 190-1 to 3 years in a penal colony. Imprisoned in Khabarovsk, Penal Colony No. 16. Arrested on 29.04.1983, while in custody, for agitation among prisoners. Sentenced by the Khabarovsk Regional Court on 10.10.1983 under Art. 190-1 to 5 years in exile. He was in exile in the village of Chumikan, Khabarovsk Krai. Released in 1986, returned to Moscow, accepted to his previous job. Died on 23.06.2013 in Moscow.
