The author is an engineer-captain of the 2nd rank, during the Great Patriotic War he served at the Artillery Research Maritime Institute (ANIMI), arrested on September 2, 1948 on suspicion of committing crimes under Article 58-1, paragraph “b” and 58 -10 part 1 of the Criminal Code of the RSFSR. Released in 1953 (after Stalin's death).
The author recalls his acquaintance and joint scientific work with Andrei Mitrofanovich Zhuravsky.
We met at the Faculty of Mathematics and Mechanics of Leningrad State University, where Zhuravsky gave a course of lectures on probability theory.
