Genus. in 1901 in Riga. In service in the RKKF since September 1918. At the end of April 1945, he was appointed to the post of head of the K. E. Voroshilov Naval Academy. At the same time, from January to May 1942 and from August to September 1945, he served as editor-in-chief of the Marine Collection magazine. 01/12/1948, together with N. G. Kuznetsov, L. M. Galler and G. A. Stepanov, was handed over to the Court of Honor of the Ministry of the Armed Forces of the USSR. The accusation was that in 1942-1944, without the permission of the USSR Government, they transferred to Great Britain and the USA secret drawings and descriptions of a high-altitude parachute torpedo, a remote 130-mm grenade, a captured acoustic system from one of the sunken German submarines, several naval artillery systems, fire control schemes, as well as a number of secret nautical charts. The Court of Honor found them guilty and decided to petition the Council of Ministers of the USSR to bring them before the Military Collegium of the Supreme Court of the USSR. On February 3, 1948, he was sentenced by the Military Collegium of the Supreme Court of the USSR under Article 193-17 paragraph “a” of the Criminal Code of the RSFSR to 10 years in prison. 02/10/1948 deprived of the military rank of “admiral”. He served his time not in a camp, but in prison in solitary confinement, only in 1952 was he transferred to a general cell. Released after Stalin's death. 05/13/1953 completely rehabilitated and restored to his former military rank of “admiral”.
