Smirnov Pavel Spiridonovich
Genus. in 1897 in the village. Afonino, Galich district, Kostroma province; Russian. He graduated from the St. Petersburg 3-class real school (1915), the Vladimir military school (1916), mine courses for command staff of the Military Sea. forces of the Red Army (1927). Served in the Northern Fleet, chief of staff of the fleet, captain 1st rank. Lived in the city of Polyarny, Murmansk region. Arrested on May 31, 1938, charged under Art. 58-9, 58-10, 58-16, 58-11. Convicted on February 14, 1940 by the Military Collegium of the Supreme Court of the USSR under Art. 58, paragraphs 9-10, Art. 58, paragraphs 1b-11 to 10 years in labor camp with loss of voting rights for 5 years, confiscation of personal property and deprivation of military rank. He served his sentence in Vorkutlag, then in a special settlement in the village. Krasny Yar, Kokchetav region, Kazakh SSR. Released 01/10/1955. Rehabilitated 12/18/1954 by the Supreme Court of the USSR.
