Alekseev Sergey Alekseevich

Genus. in 1871 in the village of Masharovo, Medynsky district, Kaluga province; Russian; from the nobles; b/p; higher education: graduated from St. Petersburg University (studied at the Faculty of Physics and Mathematics, for the last 2 semesters was a student at the Faculty of History and Philology). In 1895–1917 he worked as a chemistry expert in the Department of Customs Duties; in 1914–1922 teacher (from 1919 – professor) at St. Petersburg University. An active member of the St. Petersburg Religious and Philosophical Society until its closure in May 1923. In the 2nd half of the 1920s, he became one of the organizers of the secret RFO “Brotherhood of St. Seraphim of Sarov.” In 1928 he lived in Leningrad, associate professor at the Polytechnic Institute; in the Brotherhood case he was under recognizance not to leave; sentenced to Kogpu on 10/08/1928 under Art. 58-11 to deprivation of the right to reside in 6 cities with attachment to a specific place of residence for 3 years; 10/19/1928 released from prison. In 1930 in exile in Rybinsk; arrested on November 29, 1930, kept in the Rybinsk correctional home; released on December 24, 1930 on his own recognizance; sentenced by the OSO at the Kogpu on February 28, 1931 to exile to the Northern Territory through the OGPU PP for 3 years; sent on April 22, 1931 through the Moscow Butyrsky Isolator to the Komi-Zyryan Autonomous Okrug. In 1933 he was transferred to Novgorod, where he taught mathematics in high school. During the war he found himself under occupation; in 1944 he left for Riga, later lived in Prague and Berlin. In the very first days after the arrival of the Soviet army, he was arrested, but released. Died 05/23/1945 in Potsdam. Rehabilitated in the 1928 case by the St. Petersburg Prosecutor's Office on February 27, 1993; in the case of 1931 - by the Presidium of the Yaroslavl Regional Court on May 10, 1957.
