On December 5, 1894, he was ordained a priest and appointed to the position of rector of the Estonian Orthodox parish in St. Petersburg.He was ordained Bishop of Revel on December 31, 1917 in the Alexander Nevsky Cathedral in Revel (Tallinn). Arrested on January 2, 1919 in Yuryev. Raastrelyan on the night from 14.01 to 15.01.1919.
