Genus. in 1895 in the Volmar district of the Livonia province. In 1913 he joined the ranks of the CPSU (b). In 1918 - chief of the city police in the city of Wolmar. In April 1918 he joined the Red Army. He served in the Moscow military registration and enlistment office. In 1921 he graduated from the Military Academy of the Red Army. In 1931 - Head of the 9th Directorate of the Red Army Headquarters, in 1933-1936. - commander of the 5th Vitebsk Rifle Division, in 1937 - head of the department of preparing the country for defense at the Academy of the General Staff of the Red Army. In August 1938 he was transferred to the reserve due to political mistrust. Arrested 09/17/1938. Sentenced on April 28, 1939 to 15 years in labor camp.
He was kept in the Krasnoyarsk correctional labor camp. On 04/04/1940 the case was sent for additional investigation after filing a cassation appeal. On November 26, 1940, a new sentence was passed: 15 years in labor camp. Transferred to Ustvymlag. He worked at a logging site. Died 12/23/1943. Rehabilitated on August 24, 1956.
