Lisin (Aigi) Gennady Nikolaevich
Genus. in 1934 in the village of Shaimurzino in Chuvashia. Until 1969 he bore his father’s surname – Lisin. In 1949–1953 he studied at the Batyrev Pedagogical School, in 1953 he entered the Literary Institute named after. A.M. Gorky, where he studied in the seminar of M.A. Svetlov. In 1958, his first book of poems was published in the Chuvash language, and in the same year he was expelled from the institute “for writing a hostile book of poems that undermined the foundations of the method of socialist realism.” A year later, he received a diploma from the institute, having submitted translations for defense. For a long time, Aiga’s Russian poems were published only abroad. The first large book, “Poems 1954–1971,” was published in 1975 in Munich; In 1982, the Parisian publishing house Syntax published Aiga's collection of poems, "The Marked Winter." Since 1987, Aigi began publishing in his homeland; in 1991, the first book of his poems, “Here,” was published in Russia. In 1990 he was awarded the State Prize of Chuvashia. K.V.Ivanova, in 1994 became the people's poet of Chuvashia.
