Born in 1914 in Petrograd in the family of a noble officer, in June 1918 he was evacuated with his parents from Petrograd, from 1926 - in Gatchina. In 1931, my father was arrested in the “Konstantinovsky School case.” He graduated from school in Gatchina, two courses at the Road Technical School, and entered the Leningrad Automobile and Road Institute. In May 1937 he got married. Before his arrest, he was a 5th year student, arrested on 02/08/1938 on charges of participation in an “anti-Soviet youth organization.” Sentenced by the Leningrad Military District on September 16, 1938 to 10 years of labor camp and 5 years of disqualification. In conclusion - in Belbaltlag, Kargopollag, GULZhDS (Kotlas). Released in 1948. Lived with his family in the Arkhangelsk region. He was arrested for the second time in 1950, sentenced to indefinite exile, and transferred to the Turukhansky district of the Krasnoyarsk Territory. Rehabilitated and released in 1956, he returned to Leningrad. He graduated from the Leningrad Civil Engineering Institute and worked as the chief engineer of the Sea Trade Port. Organizer of the Mayak literary association at the Sailors' House of Culture (1964). From 1989 until the end of his life - co-chairman of the Leningrad Memorial Society.Author of memoirs: Lyuba Yu. B. Memories. - St. Petersburg. : National Research Center "Memorial", 1998. - 249 p.
