Arrested on August 26, 1936. Sentenced by the OS NKVD of the USSR on November 10, 1936 to 5 years in labor camp. In custody in Vorkuta, then in Inta. Worked in the geological department. Released in November 1944 without the right to leave Komi. Rehabilitated 05/07/1955. After rehabilitation and a pension in 1958, he returned to Leningrad and continued his scientific studies in the field of ethnography and the history of religion. Since 1969, he worked at the Museum of the History of Religion for 10 years as a consultant. Died 09/28/1980.
