Genus. in 1863, near the town of Bely Klyuch (Tetri-Tskaro), Tiflis district, Tiflis province, the son of Grand Duke Mikhail Nikolaevich and Olga Fedorovna. He held the post of curator of the Alexander III Museum in St. Petersburg (now the Russian Museum). In 1916, like many members of the Imperial Family, he asked the Emperor to give in to the demands of the opposition to create a “government of trust.” After the February Revolution he tried to emigrate, but did not meet with support from British diplomats; lived in Helsingfors; after the separation of Finland, he was arrested in April 1918 by the red patrol and transferred to the security officers in Petrograd, from where, by order of Uritsky, he was deported to Vologda. Arrested again in Vologda on 07/01/1918, from 01/21/1918 - in the Petrograd DPZ. Sentenced by the Presidium of the Cheka on 01/09/1919 to military service. Shot on one of the nights of the last ten days of January 1919. Probably buried in a mass grave on the territory of Hare Island. Rehabilitated by the General Prosecutor's Office of the Russian Federation on June 09, 1999.
