Scarf Hans-Dieter
Genus. in 1930 in Leibzig; German; German citizen. Since 1949, he was a student at the University of Leipzig, studying chemistry. Arrested by the German police on 10/06/1950 (according to other sources - 10/19/1950) and handed over to the Soviet security authorities. Together with 9 students from the same university, he was accused of espionage and anti-Soviet agitation. Sentenced by the military tribunal of military unit No. 48240 (Dresden) on January 20, 1951 to 10 years in labor camp. He was imprisoned in Vorkuta. He was transferred to the GDR and released in December 1953. In January 1954 he fled to West Berlin and graduated from the Faculty of Chemistry at the University of Bonn. From 1969 to 1995 - professor of physical organic chemistry at the technical school in Aachen. In 1996 he was elected honorary doctor of the University of Leipzig.
