In 1937 he lived in Leningrad, worked as a clerk of the fire brigade of the Leningrad Industrial Institute. Arrested on October 28, 1937 by the NKVD in the Leningrad Region; was accused of "being hostile to the CPSU(b) and Soviet authorities, was a member of the Baptist community, called for uniting against the Soviet authorities. He was a defeatist and called for refusal to serve in the Red Army." By the decision of the UNKVD dated 11/25/1937, he was sentenced to 10 years in labor camp. While serving his sentence in Taishetlag, he died on February 9, 1945. He was rehabilitated by the Presidium of the Leningrad City Court on June 28, 1960.
