Genus. in Bendery in 1929. Until 1940 he studied at the Bendery French Lyceum. At the beginning of the Great Patriotic War, he was evacuated with his family to Tbilisi, where in 1949 he graduated from the Tbilisi Higher Theater School, in 1956 from the philological faculty of the Chisinau State Pedagogical Institute. Iona Creangă.In 1960 he moved with his family to Moscow. In 1962 he was admitted to the Union of Writers of the USSR.
Since the early 1980s. regularly turns to prose and writes scripts. In 2003, he published a book of memoirs, “Four in Sheepskin Coats and Other Persons.” Member of the editorial board of the literary magazine "Continent". Died on November 30, 2009.
