Genus. in 1861 in Vilna; Jewish; higher education - graduated from a university in Switzerland. Since 1879 - member of “Land and Freedom”; in the 1890s - member of the Central Committee of the Bund. She was engaged in translations of Marxist literature, incl. 1st volume of “Capital” by K. Marx. One of the organizers of the 1st Congress of the RSDLP in Minsk. Arrested in 1898, in 1900 sentenced to 4 years of exile; in 1902 she fled with L. Trotsky. After the amnesty in 1906, she returned from emigration to Minsk, and before the October Revolution she worked at the Minsk City Public Library. On July 30, 1917, she was elected to the Minsk City Duma, dealing with issues of education. Under Soviet power - head of the extracurricular department of the People's Commissariat of Education of the BSSR, from 1920 - head of the library of the BSU. Arrested in Minsk in 1921 during the campaign to defeat the Right Socialist Revolutionaries. Exiled to Olonets province. In September 1922 she was released. She worked as a research assistant at the Institute of K. Marx and F. Engels in Moscow. Arrested on February 20, 1931 in connection with the process of the Union Bureau of Mensheviks. 04/13/1931 was released from custody due to the fact that she belonged to the “K.-R. the Menshevik group was not confirmed during the investigation.”
