Orientalist, translator
Born in 1909 in Kyiv, in the family of an engineer; Higher education - graduated from the Persian department of the Oriental Faculty of Kyiv University. Since 1933 she lived in Leningrad. Junior researcher at the Institute of Oriental Studies of the USSR Academy of Sciences, from the fall of 1935 part-time at the Hermitage, in 1936 she completely transferred to the Hermitage service. In 1938 she began working as a translator at the Hydrographic Directorate of the RKKF. Arrested on April 30, 1938, charged under Art. 58-10 of the Criminal Code of the RSFSR in that she told anti-Soviet jokes and protested against arrests and executions). Released on April 19, 1940. She went to work at the Public Library, where she continued to work during the war and blockade.
