Genko Anatoly Nestorovich
Linguist, ethnographer and historian of the Caucasus
Genus. in 1896 in St. Petersburg; higher education. Linguist, ethnographer and historian of the Caucasus, head. Cabinet of the Caucasus and the Christian East of the Asian Museum/Institute of Oriental Studies of the USSR Academy of Sciences, teacher at Leningrad universities. Lived in Leningrad. Arrested on April 10, 1938, charged under Art. 58-8, 58-10 of the Criminal Code of the RSFSR. Released due to the termination of the case on January 10, 1940. Worked as head of the Caucasus department of the Institute of Ethnography of the USSR Academy of Sciences. Arrested on October 4, 1941, charged under Art. 58-10, 58-11 of the Criminal Code of the RSFSR. Died of starvation in the UNKVD prison LO on December 26, 1941. Rehabilitated in 1991
