University professor since 1900, full member of the Academy of Sciences, member of the Eastern Branch of the Archaeological Society. Lived in Leningrad, Universitetskaya embankment, 5, apt. 29. Arrested 09/04/1919 by the Petrograd Provincial Cheka. Accused of belonging to the Constitutional Democrats party. On September 19, 1919, he was released from arrest on condition that he appear at the first request of the Cheka.
