Genus. in 1935 in Leningrad. After his parents’ arrest, he and his brother stayed with his mother’s friends, then lived with his grandmother. After his grandmother was deported in 1938, he ended up in a special orphanage “for children of enemies of the people” in Strelna. In July 1941 he was evacuated with an orphanage to the Yaroslavl region. In 1946, he began to correspond with his mother, who was in prison. In 1947 he came to his mother in Kyiv, after she was expelled from Kyiv in 1951, he moved to Boguslav and graduated from school. In 1953 he returned to Leningrad. After graduating from the Electrical Technical Institute of Railway Transport in 1958, he worked at the Lengiprotrans design institute, and from 1963 at the aviation instrument engineering design institute.
