Vitkevich (Drozdova) Maria Ivanovna
Genus. 10/29/1924 in the village of Volnoye Ramenye, Tver Region. In 1932 the family fled from dispossession, from 1933 they lived with their parents in Krasnoye Selo (a suburb of Leningrad) and studied at school. After the occupation of Krasnoye Selo by German troops, she was placed in a concentration camp in Krasnoye Selo. In 1943 she was taken to work in Estonia and worked in a German military hospital. In 1944 she was taken to Berlin and worked as a housekeeper. Liberated by Soviet troops, placed in a transit point. Arrested on April 28, 1945 in Berlin at a transit point. Sentenced by the Military Tribunal of the 146th Infantry Division on 05/16/1945 on charges of “treason” to 10 years in the camps and 3 years of loss of rights. Imprisoned in the Norilsk camp. Released on November 10, 1955. She gave birth to a son. Rehabilitated by the Military Tribunal of the Leningrad Military District on 03/09/1956. She worked at the Norilsk Mining and Metallurgical Combine. In 1962 she resigned for health reasons and returned to Krasnoe Selo. Retired since 1964. Member of the Memorial Society since 1992. Died on July 19, 2014.
