A Red Army soldier, a prisoner of Tomsk prison, died in a prison hospital in 1942

He was arrested on September 16, 1941, although the arrest order was signed only on September 27, 1941, on suspicion of a crime under Article 58, paragraph 10. He was a prisoner of the Internal Prison of the Leningrad Region Directorate of the NKGB. He was transported to Tomsk, presumably in November 1941.
He died in the prison hospital of Prison No. 3 in Tomsk on April 11, 1942. Cause of death: "from lobar pneumonia with signs of decline in cardiac activity."
Brother Shleiko Vasily Alekseevich (1925-1944) was called up on 19.09.1943, Bytensky RVC, Byelorussian SSR, Baranovichi region, Bytensky district. Guards Red Army soldier, rifleman of the 150th Guards Rifle Red Banner Regiment, 50th Guards Rifle Stalin (Donetsk) twice Red Banner, Orders of Suvorov and Kutuzov Division. Killed in action on 23.10.1944, place: East Prussia, Stallupönensky district, folw. Taukenishken.

SHLEIKO, Ivan Alekseevich, born in 1918, native of Western BSSR, Baranovichi region, Bytensky district, village of Kulki, Belarusian by nationality, citizen of the USSR, non-party member, until September 1939 a subject of Poland, by social origin from peasants, single.
FOUND:
SHLEIKO I.A. is suspected of a crime under Article 58, paragraph 10, part 11 of the Criminal Code of the RSFSR, and taking into account that SHLEIKO, being at large, may hide from the investigation and trial, guided by Articles 145 and 158 of the Criminal Procedure Code of the RSFSR.
DECIDED
The measure of prevention of methods of evading investigation and trial by I. A. SHLEIKO shall be detention in custody, about which, in accordance with Article 146 of the Criminal Procedure Code of the RSFSR, the arrested person shall be notified against signature in this resolution.
In accordance with Article 160 of the Criminal Procedure Code of the RSFSR, a copy of this resolution shall be sent to the Prosecutor and transferred to the Head of the Prison for inclusion in the personal prison file.

Medical examination report of the corpse, April 11, 1942
Based on order 0457 and the order of the Chief of Prison 3 NKVD NSO State Security Lieutenant comrade BOZHOK, I, Military Doctor 2nd rank SOBKIN, in the presence of DPN comrade GREBNEV, conducted an external examination of the body of prisoner Ivan Alekseevich SHLEIKO, born in 1918, who died in the prison hospital on 11/IV-42 at 9:20 a.m.
The corpse is male, of normal build, undernourished. Rigor mortis has set in. The skin is pale. The left side of the back and sides are cyanotic, there are cupping marks on the front of the chest and back. The mouth is closed, the tongue is behind the teeth. There are no signs of injury on the neck. The chest is cylindrical. The bones of the skeleton are intact, and pressure on the foot area leaves pits. The openings of the mouth, nose, ears and anus are free of foreign objects.
Based on the above and case history number 680/33, the death of prisoner SHLEIKO I.A. was natural and occurred from lobar pneumonia with signs of decline in cardiac activity.
