A native of the hamlet of Kalinovka, Karginsky village council, Bokovsky district, Rostov region. Lived in the neighboring hamlet of Latyshev, Karginsky village council, Bokovsky district. Worked as a ranger at the Veshensky meat state farm. Russian, from Cossacks, illiterate, no history.

In 1934 he was convicted under Article 109 of the Criminal Code and sentenced to 5 years of imprisonment; he served his sentence.
Arrested on August 15, 1941 by the duty officer of the Bokovsky RO NKVD on suspicion of Shirokov spreading "counterrevolutionary rumors with the aim of creating panic among the working population in wartime." He was held in Novocherkassk prison, then transported further to the east.
On December 9, 1941, he was transported to Tomsk. He died on January 12, 1942, while in prison No. 3 of the NKVD NSO (Tomsk). In the death certificate, the forensic expert indicated that "death occurred as a result of cerebral vascular sclerosis."

I, the respondent. the duty officer of the Bokovsky RO NKVD Sterlyadnikov, have established that Shirokov Ivan Andreevich, born in 1889 , is suspected of spreading counter-revolutionary rumors with the aim of creating panic among the working population in wartime .
And therefore, guided by Article 100 of the Criminal Procedure Code of the RSFSR
