Genus. 11(23).08.1873 in St. Petersburg; from the nobles; German. Before the revolution, chamber cadet, assistant to the head of the library of Nicholas II. Artist and writer, researcher at the Academy of Sciences. In 1930 he lived in Leningrad. Arrested on January 12(13?).01.1930 in the case of the “National Union of Struggle for the Revival of Free Russia” (“Academic Case”). Sentenced to the Kogpu on May 10, 1931 under Art. 58-11 to 10 years in a concentration camp, served his sentence in Solovki (arrived in Slag on June 26, 1931), in Belbaltlag (Medvezhyegorsky district of the Karelian Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic). rehabilitated by the Leningrad Prosecutor's Office on June 30, 1989.
In 1937 he was imprisoned in the BBL; sentenced by a troika under the NKVD of the KASSR on November 20, 1837 under Art. 58-10, 11 to VMN; shot 12/09/1937. The burial place is the Sandormokh tract (Karelia, Medvezhya Gora station). Rehabilitated by the KASSR Prosecutor's Office on April 29, 1989.
