Genus. in 1917 in Kharkov, Ukraine. Graduated from the Kharkov Art School (1937). In 1937–1940 studied at the Kharkov Art Institute. In 1940 he was drafted into the army. In 1941–1945 WWII participant. He worked as an artist in a cinema in Dnepropetrovsk. Arrested 10/12/1945. Sentenced on January 24, 1946 by the Dnepropetrovsk Regional Court under Art. 54-10 part 2 of the Criminal Code of the Ukrainian SSR ("anti-Soviet agitation and propaganda") to 10 years of labor camp and 5 years of loss of rights. In 1946–1953 was in the ITL of Siberia (Taishetlag), the Far East (Vaninlag) and Kolyma (Sevvostlag). To the Magadan region. arrived 12/28/1948. Released on August 30, 1953 early, using credits for working days. At a special settlement in the village. Yagodnoye, Magadan region, worked as an artist in the House of Culture. In 1959 he received permission to move to Magadan. In 1959–1976 worked as an artist in the Magadan branch of the Art Fund of the RSFSR and in the creative workshop of the Magadan organization of the Union of Artists of the RSFSR, one of the initiators of the creation of these organizations. In 1976 he moved to Oryol and worked in the creative workshop of the Oryol organization of the Union of Artists of the RSFSR. Rehabilitated on April 17, 1991 on the basis of Art. 1 of the Law of the Ukrainian SSR "On the rehabilitation of victims of political repression in Ukraine." Since 1992, chairman of the Oryol Regional Association of Victims of Political Repression, member of the commission for the rehabilitation and restoration of the rights of those illegally repressed in the Oryol region. In 2002-2004 — chief artist of the State Museum of Gulag History (Moscow). Member of the International Association of Fine Arts - "AIAP UNESCO". Died in Orel in 2004.
