045: Utta. Utta Ulyana Andreevna (1890-1942). Personal file of a prisoner
Born in 1890 in the village of Zasimovka, Emilchinsky district, Zhitomir region, German, citizen of the USSR, semi-literate, in 1937 her husband was repressed for counter-revolutionary activities. Lived in the village of Zasimovka, a member of the Engels collective farm of the Zasimovsky village council. Arrested on July 3, 1941, charged with a crime under Article 54-10 of the Criminal Code of the Ukrainian SSR. Accused of "writing slanderous letters to Germany to her own sister, asking to petition the German fascist government for permission to leave for Germany," in 1933-1935 received assistance from there. She was transferred via Novocherkassk prison in the Rostov region to prison No. 3 of the NKVD NSO (city of Tomsk). She died in the prison hospital on March 2, 1942.

The file was discovered by chance in the damp basement of Pretrial Detention Center No. 1, some 80 years after its establishment. It is in poor condition, its pages eaten away by fungus and falling apart. Museum staff attempted to dry the documents and make copies.
