Gollerbach Erich Fedorovich
Russian art historian, art and literary critic, bibliographer, bibliophile
Born in 1895 in Tsarskoye Selo; higher education. From 1918 - research fellow at the Tsarskoye Selo Artistic and Historical Commission; in 1919-1921 - worked in the Department for the Protection of Monuments of Art and Antiquity; in 1921-1924 - research fellow at the Russian Museum. From 1923 he headed the art department of the Petrograd branch of the State Publishing House, was one of the organizers of the Society of Bibliophiles and its chairman. Research fellow at the Leningrad Institute of Book Science and the Institute of Book Science of the Ukrainian Academy of Sciences, member of the Russian Society of Friends of the Book. Arrested in 1933 (the "Ivanov-Razumnik case"), acquitted after a short imprisonment. During the siege he lived in Leningrad, and in March 1942 he was evacuated across Lake Ladoga. He died of starvation on the way to evacuation. He is buried in the Vologda Region.
