Definition: Arctic researcher, organizer of Arctic expeditions, one of the leaders of the Main Directorate of the Northern Sea Route. Organizer of the construction of the port of Igarka, head of the first Lena expedition (1933 - 1934) to guide cargo ships from Arkhangelsk to the mouth of the Lena.

Genus. in 1886 in the village. Fedoritskoye, Rybinsk district, Yaroslavl region; Russian; from a priest's family; incomplete higher education; member of the CPSU (b), former Menshevik. Former head of Nordvikstroy, in the reserve of the Main Northern Sea Route. Lived in Moscow, 2nd Neopalimovsky lane, 1/12, apt. 5. Arrested on 08/28/1939 (according to other sources - 08/09/1939). Sentenced by the Supreme Commander of the USSR Armed Forces on 07/06/1941 on charges of “sabotage and participation in an anti-Soviet organization” to death. Shot on August 28, 1941 (according to other sources - July 28, 1941). Burial place - Moscow region, Kommunarka. Rehabilitated by the Military Commissariat of the USSR Armed Forces in September 1956.
