Born on February 13 (25), 1886. From December 1918 he worked at the Central Statistical Office as a consultant on agrarian dynamics; from June 1920 he headed the subdepartment (in 1924 transformed into a department) of budget statistics. Since 1918, he taught part-time at various higher educational institutions in Moscow, in particular, at the Timiryazev Agricultural Academy, served in the Financial and Economic Bureau of the Narkomfin, in the Research Institute of Agricultural Economics and Policy (led by the famous economist A.V. Chayanov). Three times (in the fall of 1923, for two months in the fall of 1925, from June 1926 to June 1927) he went on scientific trips to the USA. Arrested on July 26, 1930 in the case of the Labor Peasant Party, together with famous economists A.V. Chayanov, N.D. Kondratyev and others. On January 26, 1930, he was sentenced by the OGPU board to 3 years in prison, with the remaining term replaced by exile in Saratov. In 1932 he returned to Moscow and got a job at the Research Institute of Metabolism and Endocrine Disorders as head of the department of variation statistics and secretary of the Academic Council. Arrested on January 7, 1938. Accused, together with A. I. Muralov and A. V. Teitel, “of seeking to recreate the Labor Peasant Party.” On April 9, 1938, he was sentenced by a Special Meeting of the NKVD to 8 years in forced labor camps. He died in the Kolyma camp on November 28, 1943. Partially rehabilitated in 1963, completely rehabilitated, along with all those convicted in the TKP case, in 1987.
