Opera artist, teacher, Honored Artist of the RSFSR (1940). Soloist of the Leningrad Opera and Ballet Theater named after. S. M. Kirov ( 1934-1958)

Born in 1889 in the village. Dubrovo, Osinsky district (now Perm region). In 1909-1913 he studied singing at private courses with I. S. Tomars (St. Petersburg). In 1912-1917 he performed at the St. Petersburg opera houses: Luna Park, Trinity Theater of Miniatures, People's House, Musical Drama Theater. In 1924-1934 he sang on the opera stages of Moscow, Kyiv, Sverdlovsk, Perm and other cities. In 1934-1958, soloist of the Leningrad Opera and Ballet Theater. Kirov. Arrested in 1937 in Leningrad. Accused of spying for Japan. In 1939 (according to other sources in 1938) he was tried by a military tribunal and acquitted for lack of corpus delicti. After his release, he returned to the Leningrad Opera and Ballet Theater named after S. M. Kirov. In 1956-1968 he taught at the Leningrad Conservatory.
