Genus. 1878 in Tiflis, in the family of an army lieutenant colonel, from the nobility. In 1895 he graduated from the Cadet Corps in Voronezh, an army officer (1898). In 1905 he graduated from the Mikhailovsky Artillery Academy and was transferred to the fleet as a staff captain in the Admiralty. Since 1905 in the Naval Artillery Corps, in 1905-1910. member of the Commission for Naval Artillery Experiments, in 1910-1915. assistant chairman of the commission. In Soviet times, he was a member of KOSARTOP, the author of a number of scientific papers on artillery. Until 1925, he was the head of the Main Naval Range, since 1926 he was the head of the Scientific and Testing Artillery Range of the Red Army and the chairman of the Experimental Artillery Commission of the range. Arrested 02/08/1938. He was sent to the Special Design Bureau in Bolshevo, where he headed a group for artillery weapons and ammunition. On May 30, 1940, he was sentenced to 10 years in labor camp. In conclusion, he worked in his specialty - he designed artillery systems in OTB (OKB) -172 in Tomsk (1941-1942), in OKB-172 in Perm (1942-1943). He was released ahead of schedule on 06/26/1943 with the removal of a criminal record and the assignment of the rank of lieutenant general of the engineering and artillery service. Since June 1950 - Deputy Head of the Artillery Research Institute (AMII) of the Red Army.
