Fomchenko Sergey Ivanovich
Engineer, PhD in Engineering (1963)
Born in 1916 in Petrograd; Russian; member of the All-Union Leninist Young Communist League; graduated from the FFZU of the Krasny Putilovets plant, turner. From 1933 - a student of the marine engineering department of the Leningrad Institute of Water Transport Engineers. Lived in Leningrad, 5th Krasnoarmeyskaya St., building 8, apt. 6. Arrested on September 22, 1936 in Leningrad. Charged under Articles 58-6, 58-8, 58-10, 58-11 of the Criminal Code of the RSFSR. Sentenced on November 22, 1937 by the OS under the NKVD of the USSR to 10 years in a labor camp. Sentenced to Kargopollag (Arkhangelsk Region). He worked in the logging site of the Voloshka camp (camp #3, from 1939 — to camp #2, then #1 — as a sanitary inspector of buildings). In the summer of 1939 he was transferred to the pulp and paper mill of the Vandysh camp. In August 1940 he was sent to the OKB of the Kresty prison (he worked as a draftsman-designer). On 15 July 1941 he was evacuated from the OKB to Fergana, from there in November — to Aktyubinsk for the construction of a ferroalloy plant. In the autumn of 1942 he was transferred by special stage to the city of Molotov (now Perm) to OKB-172 (to the field artillery design group). In December 1944 he was sent to OKB-172 in Leningrad. Released on 23.10.1947, until 1948 — civilian. Moved to Barnaul, worked as an engineer at a boiler plant. Graduated from the Leningrad Institute of High Technologies (1948). Arrested on 05.01.1951. By the Resolution of the General Assembly under the USSR MGB dated 17.03.1951, sentenced to eternal exile to Krasnoyarsk Krai under Art. 58-6, 8, 10 of the Criminal Code of the RSFSR. Lived in the village of Murma, Taseevsky District, Krasnoyarsk Krai, then the village of Pirovskoye. Released on 09.05.1954, returned to Leningrad. Lived in Luga. Rehabilitated on 06.08.1956 by the Military Tribunal of the Leningrad Military District. Candidate of Technical Sciences (1963). Retired since 1986. Author of the book of memoirs "The First Ten".
