Genus. in 1902 , Smolensk (Rostov-on-Don?), graduated from high school in Smolensk. In 1919 he voluntarily joined the Red Army, served until 1927, and was dismissed for religious views. He graduated from law school in absentia in Moscow, worked as a lawyer and legal consultant.
Since the summer of 1941 - mayor of German-occupied Smolensk. After the Germans abandoned Smolensk in 1943. was the burgomaster of Bobruisk.
In May 1945 interned by the Americans in Karlovy Vary, then released, but, mistakenly believing that his family had been arrested, he voluntarily surrendered to the Soviet authorities.
Sentenced on September 12, 1951. by decision of the Special Meeting of the MGB to 25 years in prison, the entire term was served in Vladimir prison.
After his release from prison, he dictated his memoirs onto a tape recorder, published after his death in Paris.
