In 1949 dismissed from office without explanation. October 19, 1951 arrested in the case of V. S. Abakumov, then accused of organizing an anti-Soviet group of Jewish bourgeois nationalists, kept in a prison on Lubyanka. November 21, 1953 released from custody. After 1953 engaged in literary activities.
