Reproduction methods:
Genus. in 1909 in the village. Lopatino, Sebezhsky district, Pskov province. Writer. Lived in Leningrad. Arrested 10/10/1935. Sentenced on March 27, 1936 under Art. 58-8, 58-11 by 5 years of ITL. He was kept in the Ukhto-Izhemsky camp (Komi Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic). Arrested 09/15/1949. On May 31, 1950, the USSR MGB was sentenced to lifelong exile in Karaganda. Released in 1957. Returned to Leningrad. At the end of 1960, he transferred to the West the manuscript of the story “The Unsung Song,” which he wrote in 1949-1959. based on the material of his own biography, from childhood to 1941. Having written a sharp letter to Khrushchev, he did not receive permission to leave. Arrested 10/13/1961. Sentenced by the Leningrad City Court on March 1, 1962 under Art. 70 for compulsory treatment. Released in 1964. After repeated refusal of permission to emigrate, in 1967 he settled in Jelgava (Latvia). In November 1975 he was arrested again, and in May 1976 he was released “as having ceased to be socially dangerous.”
