Skachkov Petr Emelyanovich
Born in 1892 in St. Petersburg, Russian, from peasant background, higher education (in 1912-1914 he studied at the Practical Oriental Academy; in 1925 he graduated from the Leningrad Institute of Living Oriental Languages). Participant in the Civil War. In 1925-1928 he worked in China in the Kalgan group of Soviet military advisers. From 1930 - research associate at the Institute of Oriental Studies of the USSR Academy of Sciences. Candidate of Economic Sciences (1935, without protection). Lived with his family in Leningrad (25 Oktyabrya Ave., Bldg. 60, Apt. 24). Arrested on 12 February 1937; sentenced to 10 years in a labor camp with disqualification; served his sentence in Kolyma; released due to health reasons in 1946, but was unable to return to Leningrad, and was left to work in the Dalstroy HR department. In 1949 - an employee of the Dalstroy HR department. Arrested on 25.01.1949; sentenced by the Special Special Department of the USSR MGB to lifelong exile to Krasnoyarsk Krai; exiled by convoy to the village of Danilki, Taseevsky District, Krasnoyarsk Krai, taught accounting at school, worked as an accountant. Released and rehabilitated in 1954. From 1955 - junior, from 1956 - senior researcher at the Institute of Oriental Studies of the USSR Academy of Sciences. Died on 07.11.1964.
